| ***Work In Progress***Hello, fellow members of Deus Venatus! Some of you are likely new to roleplaying, and others simply wondering how to make their character's dialogue fit in better with the other inhabitants of Pavon. This is a reference guide to help you both! This glossary covers how certain terms are used in Pavon roleplay, and the connotations they carry. The contents of this guide are considered common knowledge, and it is not seen as metagaming to use the information in RP. Greetings- Spoiler:
Well met! - A positive greeting, used as a more formal version of, "Hey, great to see you!"
Hail - An all-purpose, respectful greeting.
Good morn. Good morning, informal.
Good morrow. - Good morning, formal, or to a superior.
Good day. - Good afternoon, informal.
Good den. - Good afternoon, formal, or to a superior.
Good ev'en. - Good evening, informal
Good eventide. - Good evening, formal, or to a superior.
Farewell. - Goodbye, informal.
Fare thee well. - Goodbye, formal, or to a superior.
(May) Ortus guide you. - Goodbye, appropriate for any religion.
(May) Soteir shield you. - Goodbye and well-wishes; may be offensive to some.
May Essani ease your path. - Goodbye and wishes that the weather will permit an easy journey; rarely seen as offensive by any religion.
Tabeos protect you. - Goodbye and well-wishes towards an outcast, cripple, impoverished or insane person; may be seen as offensive.
May Tabeos hound you. - An insulting goodbye, wishing that insanity and misfortune will follow somebody.
May Avidta overlook you. - Goodbye and well-wishes that death will not find them, especially towards somebody heading into danger; offensive to more fanatical worshippers of Avidta.
May you hunt with Avidta. - Goodbye and good luck to somebody who sacrifices souls to Avidta; suggestive of one or both parties being murderous Avidta extremists.
